Special Online Feature: Birds of the Arboretum
For its exhibit in the 2012 Northwest Flower & Garden Show (February 8 to 12), the Arboretum joined forces with the Seattle Audubon Society, a non-profit organization working to protect regional birds and nature through conservation advocacy. Entitled “Birdsong,” the award-winning display educated viewers about some of the beautiful bird species and habitats found in the Arboretum’s 230 acres. “Birdsong” was also a teaching tool for any urban gardeners wishing to welcome birds into their own backyards.
Replicas of bird species were used to demonstrate the nesting and feeding behavior of some of the Arboretum’s most beloved avian dwellers. We also created a special online publication profiling the birds featured in the garden, as well as many of its bird-friendly plants.
