The UW Botanic Gardens Education Department has created a new tour program for families with kids ages 6 to 12. Family Ecology Tours take place at the Arboretum on the first Saturday of each month (10 a.m. to noon ) and feature hands-on activities, games, and exploration for children and their caregivers. Each tour has a different ecological theme: “Spores, Gills, and Caps: Mushrooms at the Arboretum” (October 6); “Fall Flight: Migratory Birds” (November 3); “Evergreen Trees” (December 1). The cost is $8 per person per session. You can register online or by calling 206-221-6427.
