Dinner for Eight Under the Trees With John Grade and “Union”
Meet under the tree canopy for a one-of-a-kind evening of art, food, and conversation with artist John Grade and his wife, Maria. Your hosts Maribeth O’Connor and Chuck Nordhoff have planned a magical gathering that will include delicious gourmet food from Lisa Dupar Catering, wines by McCarthy and Schiering, and an artist-led tour of “Union,” Grade’s installation in the heart of the Arboretum. Native Plant Tour and Design Consultation

Our winning bidder will get the best of what award-winning design firm GGN has to offer. With GGN’s Shannon Nichol and Tess Schiavone, you’ll visit a spectacular private residential garden in Seattle to see the lush, vibrant beauty of Pacific Northwest native plants within an intimate series of garden rooms. Shannon and Tess will share their knowledge of native plant combinations, and discuss design goals and strategies. Then, they’ll visit your garden and consult with you on aesthetic goals for your site and native-plant enhancements. Post-visit, they will provide notes and a list of recommended plants to try.

Vashon Island Bluff House Getaway

Hop a ferry and find yourself a world away! Enjoy a three-night, four-day stay at Chef Matt Dillon and Brita Fisher’s “Bluff House” on Vashon Island, including a dinner cooked by Chef Matt. Sourdough Making Workshop

Home chef extraordinaire Jonathan Otis will lead a workshop for you and up to four friends and help you create perfect varieties of sourdough bread. The four-hour, hands-on workshop will take place in a beautiful condo overlooking Lake Union and include light nibbles. It will cover the key points of bread baking: hand mixing and folding, shaping, proofing, and baking. Everyone will leave the class with their own sample of sourdough starter.
